Scoring Rubrics
Six evaluation criteria: clinical need, novelty, technical merit, demonstration of technical feasibility, clinical feasibility & translational readiness, and IP potential & business model will be used to rate and rank the submissions:
Clinical need
- Has the project addressed how challenges from a clinical point of view be solved?
Novelty
- To what degree is the work a creative and original application or an advance over other work reported in the field, including the team’s earlier work?
- Are appropriate references to others’ previous work included?
Technical Merit
- How challenging the project is technically?
- How appropriate is the project's use of technology or scientific innovation?
Demonstration of Technical Feasibility
(Prototype, Physical Model, or Computer Model)
- Is there a proof of concept in the form of a video and hardware prototype?
- Is the video compelling to the viewer and does it demonstrate the argued impact?
- How effective is the concept being demonstrated?
